According to L’Équipe, Marseille have joined the chase for Adli and have begun discussions to explore a possible transfer. The French club may hold an advantage, as their sporting director, Mehdi Benatia—a former Morocco international—has a strong relationship with Adli and his representatives.
Notably, Benatia previously influenced Adli’s decision to represent Morocco over France, which could play a role in negotiations.
Wolves remain interested and reportedly made a formal offer recently, prompting Adli to request talks with Bayer Leverkusen’s hierarchy.
Adli’s Future in Question as Wolves Seek Attacking Reinforcements
With Leverkusen reportedly demanding around £26 million (Bild), Adli’s future appears uncertain. West Ham have also been linked, but Marseille’s involvement could complicate Wolves’ pursuit.
Adli himself has hinted at a possible departure, stating:
“Bayer is an exceptional club, but after four years and so many emotions, it’s normal to question my future. Should I stay or seek a new challenge? What matters most is my role on the pitch—I want to play in my preferred position, with freedom and confidence.”
With Gonçalo Guedes departing for Real Sociedad, Wolves are in need of another forward. However, Marseille’s interest may prove a significant obstacle in their bid to secure Adli.
