Forest’s European Opportunity Sparks Transfer Push
UEFA’s decision to admit Forest to next season’s Europa League—due to complications around Crystal Palace’s ownership structure—has drawn strong criticism from Eagles chairman Steve Parish. He slammed the verdict, stating:
“The decision by UEFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport renders sporting merit meaningless. It seems certain clubs and individuals wield unique privilege and power.”
Parish has previously implied Forest played a role in Palace’s exclusion, but owner Evangelos Marinakis is unlikely to be fazed, with his side now set for European football. This newfound status could also strengthen Forest’s appeal in the transfer market, with midfield reinforcements a priority.
Double Midfield Pursuit: McAtee and Musah in Sight
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are targeting both an attacking midfielder and a deeper-lying playmaker. Alongside their interest in Manchester City’s James McAtee, Forest are actively negotiating for AC Milan’s Yunus Musah.
According to TEAMtalk, Forest have tabled an official £25.9 million bid (including bonuses), nearing Milan’s £30 million valuation. With personal terms already agreed in principle on a contract until 2030, a deal could be finalized if the clubs bridge the small gap in valuation.
With Napoli no longer in contention, Musah is open to a Premier League move, and Forest may even increase their offer slightly to secure his signature.
