The phones were red hot as Derek McInnes’ men put down another major marker as they take steps towards the titleHearts are striding ahead in the race for the Scottish Premiership title after seeing off Rangers at Tynecastle. And the Ibrox diehards are far from happy.
A victory would have kickstarted the unlikeliest of title bids under Danny Rohl. Instead, the Light Blues now trail Derek McInnes’ side by 12 points and sit in fourth spot at Christmas.
The scattergun is out at Ibrox and Lewis Fotheringham, Mount Ellen has put the blame firmly on the players. He said: “This Rangers team needs to take a long hard look in the mirror. Apart from the first 20 minutes we were second best all over the park. Hearts should have scored about four or five. Rangers not good enough to win the title.”

He is a liability at the second goal – my wee boy could have saved that. This Rangers team is useless, no manager could win anything with these overrated duds. They all embarrassed Rangers.”
Scott Gowers, Edinburgh reckons that the officials dropped a howler – after Bojan Miovski saw a goal chopped off for offside. He fumed: “Nick Walsh’s VAR team seemed to put a line over the top of a Hearts players’ toes when deliberately trying to rule out Rangers goal, you just need to look at the freeze frame without the lines hiding anatomy parts to realise the goal should have stood, there is absolutely no sign of the front of the Hearts players football boot with the line in place.”
Well done Hearts as you showed a lot more fight than Rangers, but there is a common factor when Nick Walsh is an official during a Rangers game. He deflates the team with his numerous controversially wrong decisions against Rangers. The SFA must investigate this.

Embarrassing really.”Wilfried Nancy secured his first win as Celtic boss as the Hoops saw off Aberdeen at Celtic Park. But Kenny Wilson, Moffat still has concerns over the formation.
He said: “A huge win for Celtic and a far better performance in a game they could’ve scored 10 goals but for bad finishing bad luck and some unbelievable goalkeeping. Hopefully a confidence boost for the players, but this back three is still very worrying with the players we have just now. I wonder if the Rangers fans still think they are coming again to win the league now?
“Head of refereeing operations Willie Collum has also sparked debated as he leapt to the defence of the use of VAR in Scottish football.Charles Buchanan said: “So Willie Collum thinks VAR is working? Too many mistakes being made by our incompetent officials, it’s nothing to do with VAR? It could be the difference between a team winning the league or a team being relegated with these idiots are making wrong calls, and then days later saying it was human error.”
Collum offered a defence of Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande’s pull on Kilmarnock star David Watson on the edge of the box during his review, but Sean Dolan, Chicago wasn’t impressed, saying: “Listening to Willie Collum talk through the VAR review of the Kilmarnock vs Rangers penalty incident, and the need to draw the line somewhere, he justified the decision not to award the penalty based on the ball not coming into the box when the offence was committed.”
So on that basis, had there been multiple other holding offences in the box at the same time, he’s basically saying they would be deemed as not punishable, as the ball didn’t come into the box.
“This is a joke and Willie needs to sort it out. It’s either and offence or not and that’s where the line should be drawn. Holding is an offence and should attract the relevant punishment.”
