On Monday, Oklahoma women’s basketball dropped three spots to No. 13 in The Associated Press Poll, marking their lowest ranking of the season.
The Sooners had a mixed week, losing to Mississippi State 81-77 on Thursday before bouncing back with a 77-62 victory over Texas A&M on Sunday. During the two games, the team struggled with turnovers and fouls, committing 40 and 43, respectively. Shooting consistency was also an issue, with the Sooners posting a 24.2% three-point percentage (8 of 33) and a 39.4% overall field goal percentage (26 of 66) against the Aggies.
Despite offensive struggles, the defense stepped up in Sunday’s win, limiting Texas A&M to a 26.9% shooting performance—the lowest field goal percentage by a conference opponent since Jan. 15, 2020, when OU held West Virginia to 23.7%.
Junior center Raegan Beers led the Sooners with a combined 35 points over the week. She recorded her seventh double-double of the season against Mississippi State with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Against Texas A&M, she added 16 points and nine rebounds before leaving the game in the third quarter due to a shoulder injury.
