Flamengo are eagerly anticipating the summer transfer window as Liverpool, Manchester United, and clubs from Italy show interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder João Gomes.
According to Gazete do Urubu, Gomes is “close to Liverpool,” and Flamengo could receive a “millionaire amount” from any potential deal.

The report explains that the former Flamengo midfielder is currently attracting attention from major European clubs, with both Liverpool and Manchester United keen on securing his services.
Liverpool are currently the “main interested party,” but Manchester United are also in the mix, along with unnamed Italian clubs. All signs point to a summer move worth around €60 million, a prospect that has Flamengo excited.
Flamengo would receive approximately 10% of the transfer fee, plus an additional 4% through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, meaning they could pocket around €8.4 million from a €60 million sale.

Liverpool view Gomes as a “strategic addition,” which currently places them at the forefront of the race for the Wolves midfielder. Wolverhampton Wanderers are fully aware of the growing interest and the player’s market value, and they will only entertain negotiations for €60 million or more.
The hope is that competition between clubs, potentially Liverpool and Manchester United, could drive the price even higher, benefiting both Wolves and Flamengo.
