BOMBSHELL – Transfer expert reveals €15m Wolves star is far more likely to LEAVE Molineux amid heavy interest from clubs in Europe as potential new club NAMED

The summer transfer window is shaping up to be a hectic period for Wolves, with more than just Matheus Cunha drawing attention from other clubs.

Undoubtedly, the primary focus leading up to the summer window is whether Cunha will depart Wolves. The Old Gold included a release clause in Cunha’s contract, allowing clubs to bypass negotiations and secure the Brazilian’s signature directly.

While Vitor Pereira will be concerned about the possibility of losing his star player, it’s evident that the 25-year-old isn’t the only Wolves player at risk of leaving this summer.

Several Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in Cunha, who could depart after two standout seasons in Old Gold. However, the potential exit of the Brazil international isn’t the only concern, as his compatriot Joao Gomes is also attracting significant attention.

This insight comes from TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey, who spoke to Molineux News about the players who could be on their way out of Wolves this summer.

When discussing Pereira’s in-form players, Bailey was asked if clubs might show interest in Andre, given how well the summer signing has adapted to the Premier League.

“No, not at all really, but his teammate Joao Gomes is a different situation,” Bailey said, downplaying the likelihood of an early exit for Andre.

Gomes has been a revelation since joining Wolves from Pereira’s Flamengo in January 2023, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed by other clubs.

“He’s got a lot of clubs that like him, he’s impressed hugely, we’ve seen Tottenham linked previously, I think there’s a handful of Premier League rivals who would gladly take him.
“I think Joao Gomes would be an interesting one to watch. Could Wolves lose him [Gomes]? I think it depends on who else goes but he’s getting a lot of interest from across Europe as well.
“In terms of the two of them, it would be Gomes going over Andre, I’ve got no doubt about that.”

Vitor Pereira won’t let Gomes leave easily:

While the update brings both positive and negative news—Andre looks set to stay, but Gomes could be tempted away—it’s clear that Pereira won’t let Gomes depart without a fight. The manager has been reaping the benefits of the strong partnership between Andre and Gomes in midfield.

Bailey emphasized this point, noting that Pereira is “happy” with his current midfield setup.
“Vitor Pereira is quite happy with the midfield, Gomes and Andre are looking very good as a partnership at the moment.”

Signed for just £15 million from Flamengo, Gomes has proven to be one of Wolves’ best signings in history. His exceptional performances are likely to secure the Old Gold a significant profit when the time comes for him to move on.
