SHOCKING: Todd Haley Said Aaron Rodgers Is Steelers’ ‘…,’ Hard To Get ‘…’ About Russell Wilson.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley has expressed his opinion that signing Aaron Rodgers would be the optimal solution for the team’s quarterback situation, while finding it challenging to be enthusiastic about a potential reunion with Russell Wilson.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Haley discussed the Steelers’ quarterback options, stating, “I think the best answer still, to me, is finding a way to come to terms with Aaron Rodgers. I think Pittsburgh would be a great place for him, both from a perception standpoint and a chance to win. I think that’s best-case scenario.”

Haley’s comments come amid ongoing uncertainty regarding Rodgers’ future in the NFL. The 41-year-old quarterback, recently released by the New York Jets following a 5-12 season, has yet to decide on his plans for the 2025 season. The Minnesota Vikings have opted not to pursue Rodgers, leaving the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers as the primary contenders for his services.

The Steelers are actively seeking a starting quarterback after losing Justin Fields to the Jets. While they have re-signed Mason Rudolph, the team is exploring other options, including Rodgers and Wilson. Wilson, who started for the Steelers last season, experienced a decline in performance as the season progressed, leading to mixed feelings about a potential return.

Haley expressed reservations about bringing Wilson back, saying, “If it’s Russell Wilson coming back around, it’s just very hard for me to get excited if they just rewind and go back through what they did.”

The Steelers’ pursuit of Rodgers is further complicated by his indecision. Veteran defensive lineman Cameron Heyward has publicly expressed frustration with Rodgers’ lack of commitment, urging him to make a decision soon.

As the situation develops, the Steelers must weigh their options carefully, considering both the potential benefits and risks associated with signing either Rodgers or Wilson. Haley’s insights highlight the complexities involved in making such a pivotal decision for the franchise’s future.
