‘VAR and Referee helped Rangers it’s clear’ – Ally McCoist reveals Rangers got Favoured by the VAR as Jose Mourinho’s men were Denied CLEAR decision that could have led to a goal and won the tie for Fenerbahce after Replays shows that Gers was helped by Referee

Ally McCoist conceded that Rangers “got away with one” during their Europa League clash against Fenerbahce at Ibrox, following Anderson Talisca’s booking for simulation.

The forward received a yellow card after going down just outside the box following a challenge from Rangers defender Jefte. Referee Espen Eskas swiftly brandished the card, ruling that Talisca had deliberately thrown himself to the ground.

McCoist, however, was quick to share his perspective on the incident, suggesting that Talisca had indeed been fouled by Jefte and expressing concern over potential VAR involvement.

His assessment was later supported by replays, which clearly showed Jefte making contact with Talisca’s ankle. Despite this, VAR did not intervene.

The decision sparked frustration among Fenerbahce’s backroom staff, leading to a second yellow card being issued to a member of their coaching team.

Reflecting on the incident, the Rangers icon remarked: “Well, that’s interesting.

“I’ll put my cards on the table right now, I thought he caught him.

“We’ll have a better look here. I think Rangers got away with one there, I’m not sure they have got away with it yet right enough!

“It’s probably just outside but I don’t think there is any doubt, I think he catches him.”

He added: “Have I got that wrong? Let’s put it this way, Rory. I would have been looking for that.”
